Boras[bOOrOs´] Pronunciation Key, city (1990 pop. 59,710), Alvsborg co., SW Sweden, on the Viskan River. It is a transportation and commercial center and Sweden's leading textile center, with numerous cotton and woolen mills. Boras was founded in 1632 by Gustavus II.
