Juan de Escobedo[hwAn dA AskObA´thO] Pronunciation Key, d. 1578, Spanish politician, secretary to John of Austria in the Netherlands. He was murdered while on a mission in Madrid. Antonio PErez was, perhaps unjustly, charged with the murder.
