Inowroclaw[EnOvrOts´lAf] Pronunciation Key, Ger. Hohensalza, city (1993 est. pop. 78,800), Kujawsko-Pomorskie prov., N central Poland. It is an important railway and industrial center where chemicals and bricks are produced. It is also a health resort, with saltwater springs. Rock salt is mined nearby. Chartered in 1267, Inowroclaw passed to Prussia in 1772 and reverted to Poland in 1919.
