Livadiya[lyivA´dyEu] Pronunciation Key, town, S Ukraine, in the Crimea near Yalta, on the Black Sea. It produces wine and is a noted health resort. Dating from medieval times, Livadiya became a summer residence of the Russian czars in 1861. The Livadiya palace, built in 191011, is now a sanatorium. It was the meeting place of the Yalta Conference in 1945.
