Morava or Velika Morava[vel´ikA mOr´AvA] Pronunciation Key, river, 134 mi (216 km) long, formed at Stalac, E Serbia, by the junction of the Zapadna Morava and the Juzna Morava. It flows N to the Danube River. The Morava's wide valley is fertile and densely populated. Along with the Vardar River it is a major transportation corridor of the Balkan Peninsula.
