Aloys Senefelder[A´lOUs zA´nufel´´dur, A´lois] Pronunciation Key, 1771–1834, German lithographer, b. Prague. Senefelder invented lithography in Munich c.1796. In 1818 he published a full account of the nature and the history of his invention. The English translation, A Complete Course of Lithography, appeared in 1819.
