Tuan Ch'i-jui[dwAn´chE-jOOE] Pronunciation Key, 18651936, Chinese general and political leader. He studied military science in Germany and held high positions in the army under the Ch'ing dynasty. After the overthrow of the monarchy, Tuan, a consistent supporter of YUan Shih-kai, served as minister of war (191214) and as premier several times between 1912 and 1918. His power group was called the Anhui clique. He was provisional president of China (192426).
