the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground, a major research,
development, and testing installation and site of the army ordnance
center and school. The facility, opened in 1917, occupies 75,000
acres/30,353 ha. The U.S. Army Ordnance Mus. on the grounds
is a comprehensive collection of arms and military vehicles dating from
