(6,384 ft/1,946 m) is near center; includes
Dante's View. Most of range in Death Valley Natl. Monument. E boundary
of monument on E side of range. Sections of range are locally called
Grapevine Mts., Funeral Mts., and Black Mts. Amargosa Desert is NE, in
Nev., SE of Beatty.
