Andersonville Prison Historic Site (authorized 1970). During the Civil
War, tens of thousands of Union soliders were confined in
Andersonville, under conditions so bad that more than 12,000 soldiers
died. Andersonville Natl. Cemetery contains more than 13,000 soldiers'
