Anegada , island (1991 pop. 162), Br. Virgin Isls., N of main group; 18°45'N 64°20'W. The only coral isl. (8 mi/20 km long by 1.5 mi/4 km wide) in this group (others are volcanic). It is called the “Sunken Island” because it has 300 wrecks on its reefs. It features 11 mi/18 km of beaches and is famous for its lobsters. Principal town: the Settlement.
