corner of Ga. on Fla. line by confluence of Flint and Chattahoochee
rivers near town of Chattahoochee; flows S across NW Fla., into
Apalachicola Bay at Apalachicola; has dredged channel. Except for area
surrounding its mouth, R. forms boundary between Eastern and Central
time zones in Fla. Receives Chipola R. From farthest headstream (N
Ga.), 500 mi/805 km above mouth, drains
19,500 sq mi/50,505 sq km.
