Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site (800 acres/324 ha), Otero co., near Arkansas R., SE Colo., 5 mi/8 km ENE of La Junta. Fur-trading post and rest station on the Santa Fe Trail; originally built c.1830 by Charles and William Bent. Current fort is a reconstruction. Authorized 1960. See Bent's Fort.
