Biminis
, island group in the Straits of Florida (1990 pop.
1,639), forming the NW sect. of the Bahamas. Includes North and South
Bimini and surrounding cays. Exceptionally good fishing attracts many
tourists. According to legend, the Biminis are the location of the
fountain of youth sought by Juan Ponce de Leon.
