Elder co., N Utah, 20 mi/32 km N of Ogden;
41°30'N 112°00'W. Center of a large farm area served by the Ogden
R. project. Sheep, cattle; wheat, sugar beets, and orchard fruit,
especially cherries and peaches, are raised. Mfg. (propulsion systems,
space shuttle rocket boosters, construction materials, flour,
fabricated metal prods.), petroleum refining. Founded as Box Elder in
1851; name was changed to honor Brigham Young in 1856. Golden Spike
Natl. Historic Site, marking the spot where the last RR spike was
driven in 1869, is 30 mi/48 km to the W. Great
Salt Lake and mouth of Bear R. to W; Wasatch Range and Natl. Forest to
