Shore; bounded E by Del. state line, W by Choptank R. and Tuckahoe
Creek. Agr. area (produce, esp. tomatoes; fruit, dairy prods., corn,
soybeans, barley, poultry; livestock), with some timber (hardwoods,
evergreens); vegetable canneries, poultry-dressing plants; mfg. paper
prods. Formed 1774, the town took its name from Caroline Eden, the wife
of Sir Robert Eden, the last royal governor of Maryland.
