farmland as a complete New Town in 1966-1967, a planned
community developed by the Rouse Co. It incorporates 9 villages around
a main downtown along with schools, churches, a mall with more than 200
stores, recreational park, and business and cultural facilities.

Post-Merriweather Outdoor Pavilion attracts well-known entertainment.
