wide; 67°42'-68°35'N 108°50'-113°30'W. Leads from Dolphin and
Union Strait (W) to Queen Maud Gulf (E). Bathurst Inlet extends
120 mi/193 km S. Gulf receives Coppermine R.
at Coppermine village. It forms part of Northwest Passage through the
Arctic Archipelago; passage was 1st completed by Roald Amundsen,
1903-1906.
