Much of co. (N and E) is in Allegheny Natl. Forest. Drained by
Allegheny R. (NW), Clarion R. along part of S boundary, and Tionesta
Creek in N and W (forming Tionesta L. reservoir in W center). Settled
by Moravian missionaries. Corn, oats, hay, alfalfa; cattle; dairying;
timber; sand and gravel. Parts of Cook Forest State Park and Clear
Creek State Forest in S. Formed 1848.
