Fort Selkirk
or Selkirk, trading post, SW Yukon,
Canada, at confluence of Lewes and Pelly rivers, here forming Yukon R.,
110 mi/177 km SE of Dawson; 62°46'N
137°23'W. Royal Can. Mounted Police post. Fort was est. 1848,
destroyed by Indians 1852. Hudson's Bay Company re-established the
post in 1938.
