Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park
, at Warm Springs, Ga. Once a
part of the 2,700-acre/1,093-ha Franklin Roosevelt farm,
this 10,000-acre/4,047-ha park was created by the Civilian
Conservation Corps, a New Deal relief initiative. The
23 mi/37 km long Pine Mt. Trail traverses the
length of the park. New Callaway Gardens, the premier tourist
destination in the area. Most of the park now covered by pine
trees.
