W shore (Ala.) and Early and Clay cos. on E shore (Ga.). Formed by
George W. Andrews Lock and Dam (59 ft/18 m
high), built (1964) by Army Corps of Engineers for navigation. Dam also
known as George W. Andrews L. Dam.
