O'Shaughnessy Dam (forms Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in lower
10 mi/16 km of valley) turned the valley into
a lake 10 mi/16 km long, which is used for
generating power and for supplying water to San Francisco by Hetch
Hetchy Aqueduct. Also called the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne.
