(KEE-WEE-naw), NW Upper Peninsula, Mich., inlet of
L. Superior (c.30 mi/48 km long,
15 mi/24 km wide at entrance, narrows to a
point at S end) lying to E of curving Keweenaw Peninsula,
55 mi/89 km NW of Marquette; 46°55'N
88°19'W. It is E terminus of Keweenaw Waterway. Baraga, Keweenaw Bay
village, and L'Anse, all resorts, are at its head.
