packaging, and shipping center for the surrounding Kissimmee river
basin, where citrus prods. (especially oranges) and beef are raised.
The city also lies in a popular vacation area. Among the largest
contributors to Kissimmee's economic development is nearby Walt Disney
World (12 mi/19 km NW), the theme park and
entertainment complex that draws millions of visitors each year.
Kissimmee has motels and restaurants that serve many of the park's
visitors.
