motor vehicle parts, dairy prods., office supplies,
machinery; canning. In rich agr. area (poultry; fruit). In 1897, Pearl
Bixby Wait, a local carpenter, perfected the formula for Jello gelatin
dessert, then sold it for $450. Until 1964, General Foods had a plant
that produced Jello in the village. Jello Mus. is housed in Le Roy
Historical Society Bldg. Settled 1793, inc. 1834.
