Lester B. Pearson International Airport , S central Ont., Canada; covers 4,428 acres/1,792 ha. Official name of Toronto Internatl. Airport, 12 mi/19 km W of downtown Toronto at Malton, in N part of city of Mississauga, just NW of MacDonald-Cartier Freeway. Canada's largest and busiest airport with 3 terminals. Built in 1938 and greatly expanded in the 1960s through 1980s. Surrounded by light mfg. and office parks, hotels, commercial areas.
