livestock center. City boomed with the discovery of the oil field in
1930. It is the seat of LeTourneau Univ. Gregg co. airport to SE.
Annual horse and cattle shows are held in Longview. L. Cherokee
reservoir to SE; Lone Star Speedway. Settled early 1800s; inc. 1872.
