fields in central and W N.Mex. One area is in Lincoln and Otero cos.,
central N.Mex., c.45 mi/72 km N of Alamogordo
and SW of Carrizozo, in N part of Tularosa Valley, E of Sierra Oscura,
W of Sierra Blanca, and with Valley of Fires Natl. Recreation Area in
N. The other area is in Cibola co., W N.Mex.,
c.70 mi/113 km WSW of Albuquerque, S of
Grants. Much of area covered by El Malpais Natl. Monument. La Ventana
Natural Arch in E; Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave to W.
