Monroe Lake
, reservoir, Monroe and Brown cos., S central Ind.,
on Salt Creek (formed here by North and South forks),
12 mi/19 km N of Bloomington;
15 mi/24 km long; 39°00'N 86°31'W. Has 2
arms. Formed by Monroe Dam, built by Army Corps of Engineers for water
supply. On shores are state recreation areas and Whitewater State Park
(NE).
