Necaxa River
(ne-KA-shah),
c.125 mi/201 km long, in Puebla and Veracruz,
Mexico; rises NW of Zacatlan; flows NE, past Huauchinango, to the
Gulf of Mexico at Tecolutla; 20°16'N 97°27'W. Used extensively for
irrigation and hydroelectric power. Its lower course in Veracruz is
called Tecolutla. The large Necaxa Falls are NW of Huauchinango, near
Veracruz state border.
