Resorts on coast. Drained by Yantie, Shetucket, Thames, Mystic,
Quinebaug, Pawcatuck (E boundary), and Niantic rivers. Located
3.2 mi/5.1 km ENE of New London are 3 nuclear
power plants: Millstone 1 (initial criticality Oct. 26, 1970; max.
dependable capacity of 650 MWe), Millstone 2 (initial criticality Oct.
17, 1975; max. dependable capacity of 860 MWe), and Millstone 3
