12 mi/19 km SE of Leonardtown. The 1st
Summer White House, James Madison's, was here until it was swept
away in a 1933 gale. The Harry Luenberg School for Seaman has a
collection of restored boats, including a yacht President John F.
Kennedy sailed and a ferry boat that used to ply bet. Mt. Vernon and
Marshall Hall. The lighthouse here was taken over by St. Marys co. in
1980.
