acres/1,258 ha of this future air base to the U.S. govt.
in 1941 to secure its designation. Building began in 1942 for its
designation. Building began in 1942 for the Warner Robins Army Air
Depot. By 1943 the city of Warner Robins was inc. The base became
an important Cold War installation after World War II. The complex now
also includes the Warn Robins Air Logistics Center and covers 8,790
acres/3,557 ha. Over 4,000 civilians and
16,000 military personnel are employed here. Mus. of aviation
stands next to the air base.
