Max. capacity 5,100,000 acre-ft. Largest reservoir in La. Formed by
Toledo Bend Dam (earth construction;
95 ft/29 m high), built (1968) for irrigation,
power generation, and flood control. Unit of Sabine Natl. Forest
(Texas) covers most of W shore; N. Toledo Bend State Park (La.) on E
shore.
