Has N outlet in Vermilion R; numerous isls., including large Pine Isl.

extremely irregular shoreline. Chippewa Indian Reservation and iron
mines (Tower and Soudan) are on S shore. Lake includes
10-mi/16-km NW extension, including Wakemup Bay, connected
by Oak Narrows and Wakemup Narrows in W. Soudan Underground Mine State
Park on S shore. Vermilion L. Indian Reservation on peninsula (Echo
