SPECIES: Selaginella densa | Little Clubmoss 


FIRE ECOLOGY OR ADAPTATIONS : 
Little clubmoss would appear to have little defense against fire.
However, it has been observed to survive on dry rocky hillsides where
other vegetation and litter were sparce.  On nearby moist areas where
prefire vegetation was more dense, it was completely removed [51].


POSTFIRE REGENERATION STRATEGY : 
   secondary colonizer; off-site spores carried to site after year two
