Scarlet globemallow has been noted as present but not necessarily dominant in several plant typings: Plant associations of Region Two: potential plant communities of Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas [22] Grasslands of the Great Plains [40] Analysis of grassland vegetation in selected key areas in southwestern South Dakota [42]
