Indian ricegrass reestablishes on burned sites through seed dispersed from adjacent unburned areas. Fire intervals in sagebrush-grass communities have been estimated at 7 to 70 years [131]. The range of fire intervals reported for some species that dominate communities in which Indian ricegrass occurs are listed below.
