GENERAL DISTRIBUTION : Tobosa is found in the southwestern United States where it is restricted to the semidesert grassland and desert shrub types. It ranges from south central Oklahoma through western Texas, to southern Arizona and south into Mexico [40,46,49]. It is cultivated in Hawaii [57].
