GENERAL DISTRIBUTION : The range of gray birch extends west from Nova Scotia to southern Ontario, and south to New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Disjunct populations occur in northern Ohio, Virginia, and western North Carolina [6,9,22,33].
