FIRE ECOLOGY OR ADAPTATIONS : 
Richardson willow sprouts rapidly from basal stems and roots after fire
[28,32].  It produces minute, hairy seeds that are easily disseminated
by wind, and which are important in reestablishment [21,32].
 


POSTFIRE REGENERATION STRATEGY : 
   Ground residual colonizer (on-site, initial community)
   Secondary colonizer - off-site seed
