Bell & Ross is a luxury French watch company headed by the French and Swiss designer Bruno Belamich and businessman Carlos A. Rosillo. The brand was launched in 1992. The first watches were designed by Belamich and Rosillo and made by a German watchmaker Sinn. Watches such as the BR Instrument have been designed to replicate the shape of a cockpit instrument taken from an aircraft.

Bell & Ross’s first watches were virtual re-issues of Sinn models and carried the Bell & Ross logo as well as Sinn’s. The partnership ended in 2002, when Bell & Ross began its own independent production in its facilities La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The aesthetic appeal of Bell & Ross is mirrored in its four design principles, namely optimal water resistance, highly accurate Swiss mechanical movements like the ETA Valjoux, clear visual indicators, such as those found on aircraft instrument panels and special functions intended for specific uses.

Google Search

Google Search, commonly referred to as Google Web Search or just Google. It is a web search engine owned by Google Inc. It is the most-used search engine on the World Wide Web, handling more than three billion searches each day. As of February 2015 it is the most used search engine in the US with 64.5% market share. The main purpose of Google Search is to hunt for text in publicly accessible documents offered by web servers, as opposed to other data, such as images or data contained in databases. It was originally developed by Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1997.

Logo Of Google (Photo Credit: Google INC / Public Domain)

Google Search provides several features beyond searching for words. These include synonyms, weather forecasts, time zones, stock quotes, maps, earthquake data, movie showtimes, airports, home listings and sports scores. There are special features for numbers, dates and some specific forms, including ranges, prices, temperatures, money and measurement unit conversions, calculations, package tracking, patents, area codes and language translation. In June 2011 Google introduced “Google Voice Search” to search for spoken, rather than typed words.

Mahatma Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (2 October 1869 – 30 January 1948) was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. The honorific Mahatma applied to him first in 1914 in South Africa. Now it is used worldwide. He is also called Bapu in India. He was born and raised in a Hindu merchant caste family in coastal Gujarat, western India and trained in law at the Inner Temple, London.

Gandhi Spinning (Photo Credit: Public Domain)

Gandhi famously led Indians in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with the 400 km Dandi Salt March in 1930 and later in calling for the British to Quit India in 1942. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn hand-spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as a means of both self-purification and social protest. Indians widely describe Gandhi as the father of the nation. His birthday, 2 October, is commemorated as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday and world-wide as the International Day of Nonviolence.

He is known for his quote in Marathi, “स्वराज्य हा माझा जन्मसिद्ध हक्क आहे आणि ते मी मिळवणारच” (“Swarajya is my birthright and I shall have it!”) in India.
Bhagat Singh (27/28 September 1907 – 23 March 1931) was an Indian socialist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He is often referred to as “Shaheed Bhagat Singh”. Born into a Sikh family which had earlier been involved in revolutionary activities against the British Raj. Lala Lajpat Rai was killed at the hands of the police. Bhagat Singh wanted revenge for this incidence. He became involved in the murder of the British Police Officer John Saunders. He underwent a 116 day fast in jail and so he did not have food for that long. He did this to demand equal political rights for both British and Indian political prisoners. He was convicted and subsequently hanged for his participation in the murder, aged 23. He emerged as the paramount leader of the Indian independence movement under the tutelage of Mahatma Gandhi and ruled India from its establishment as an independent nation in 1947 until his death in office in 1964. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the eight “hottest hotspots” of biological diversity in the world. It is sometimes called the Great Escarpment of India. The range starts near the border of Gujarat and Maharashtra, south of the Tapti river and runs approximately 1,600 km through the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu ending at Kanyakumari at the southern tip of India.

Rani ki vav is an intricately constructed stepwell situated in the town of Patan in Gujarat, India. It was added to the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites on 22 June 2014. Rani ki vav (Queen’s step well) was constructed during the rule of the Solanki dynasty. The stepwell was later flooded by the nearby Saraswati River and silted over until the late 1980’s.

When it was excavated by the Archeological Survey of India, the carvings were found in pristine condition. This magnificent east-facing step well measures approximately 64m long, 20m wide & 27m deep. A stepped corridor compartmented at regular intervals pillared multistory pavilions is a unique feature. It was one of the largest and the most sumptuous structures of its type. It became silted up and much of it is not visible now, except for some rows of sculptured panels in the circular part of the well. Among its ruins one pillar still stands which is an excellent example of this period of design.
