The currently accepted scientific name for saguaro is Carnegiea gigantea
(Engelm.) Britt. & Rose [32].  It is a member of the cactus family
(Cactaceae).  Carnegiea is a monotypic genus.  There are no subspecies,
varieties, or forms.
