FIRE ECOLOGY OR ADAPTATIONS : 
Plant adaptations:  Seed driven into the soil by the styles is usually
protected  from fire [52].

Fire ecology:  The prostrate stems of cutleaf filaree aid in spreading
groundfire.  Dead plants contribute to fuel loads.  


POSTFIRE REGENERATION STRATEGY : 
   Initial-offsite colonizer (off-site, initial community)
   Secondary colonizer - off-site seed
