FIRE ECOLOGY OR ADAPTATIONS : 
Autumn-olive may sprout from the root crown following low- to
moderate-severity fire.  It is probably an off-site colonizer of burned
sites because it produces adundant seed which is dispersed by animals
[14,24].


POSTFIRE REGENERATION STRATEGY : 
   Tall shrub, adventitious-bud root crown
   Small shrub, adventitious-bud root crown
   Initial-offsite colonizer (off-site, initial community)
   Secondary colonizer - off-site seed
