Hungary Economic Regulators
Instead of issuing compulsory plan targets, the
government
administratively adjusted economic regulators to induce
enterprises and cooperatives to fulfill the regime's
macroeconomic plan. The key economic regulators were
prices,
taxes, enterprise-income regulations, exchange rates, and
direct
administrative intervention. The government did not apply
the
regulators uniformly throughout the economy but changed
them
according to need.
