Sporades[spOr´udEz, spor´] Pronunciation Key, islands, E and SE Greece, in the Aegean Sea. They have been grouped variously at different times. The Northern Sporades are generally understood to include SkIros, Skiathos, SkOpelos, and some smaller islands off the coast of Evvoia and W Turkey. LImnos and Lesbos are sometimes also included. The Southern Sporades are generally understood to include IkarIa, SAmos, the Dodecanese, and sometimes KhIos. The main products of the Sporades are olive oil, wine, and citrus fruit.
