Beauharnois (bo-HAHR-nwah), city (1991 pop. 6,449), S Que., Canada, on L. St. Louis, a broadening of the St. Lawrence R.; 45°19'N 73°52'W. Steel, aluminum, metal alloys, paper, chemicals, and furniture are produced. Beauharnois is at the E outlet of the Beauharnois Canal, part of the St. Lawrence Seaway System, and is the site of a large hydroelectric development.
