rivers; rises in Carroll co., Iowa (IA); both flow S and W, then join near
Hamburg to form Nishnabotna R.; flows

2 mi/3.2 km W of Watson in extreme NW Mo. Used
for hydroelectric power. Tributaries and main stream are canalized for
flood control. Because of record rains, serious flooding occurred along
the river in 1993.
